Throttle by Wire info needed

I am halfway through swapping a 4g69 into a UK 2005 lancer. We are not having any problems whatsoever but does anyone know if the throttle by wire is actually needed?

It would be much easier to just attach my existing throttle cable to the intake instead. The car doesnt have cruise control, are there any other factors that might require the ECU to use the throttle by wire rather than the manual throttle cable?

For instance, does the ECU's MIVEC control increase the airflow by altering the throttle by wire? This would not work with a manual throttle?

I have the throttle by wire parts ready, but just wondering...

It didn't look like there was a place to attach a cable to the throttle body when I looked. Are you using a different throttle body? As long as you have all the necessary parts, why not just put them in?
