I did some more reading and found that when the valve lash is as tight as ours, you MUST set it when hot Originally Posted by Myszkewicz

It seems that when the engine is cool, the rocker can actually touch the valve, which means you can't effectively set it.Evolved Member
Yeah, I figured it was something like that. Especially when I was looking for a suitable feeler gauge set last night. The "tappet feeler gauge" set started at .3mm, which is WAY too big for setting the intake clearance. I had to get the "master feeler gauge" set to get smaller than that. It goes all the way down to 0.038mm.
Maybe I'll do mine this weekend. I was going to do the solid motor mounts, but they haven't arrived yet.
I ordered them last Sunday. The urethane and primer are ready to go, though.

i just read on the US lancer forums concerning about an engine noise... i do notice the noise does not happen when the clutch is in but when i released it it does... they say its the TOB (throw out berring) so i guess you can check your whole clutch thing.... and i also heard that its quite common with manual mitsubishi's? oh well just some info....
