Talking Emission Recall Notification

Did anyone get this.. anyways i need help.. what would the new PCM (powertrain control Module) will do.. heres what it says on my letter

Mitsubishi motor sales of canada blha lbha... have determined that certain 2005 lancer and outlander vehicles may habe incorrect parameters in the PCM software that may allow malfunction in the vehicle speed sensor to go undetected by the ON-board Diagnostic System. A faulty vehicle speed sensor if undetected could allow your vehicle to release polutants in excess of established standards. New PCM software to correct this condition has been developed and will be installed in your vehicle free of charge...

Do you drive an AT Ralliart? I think only the AT models have a PCM, while the MT people have the ECM, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe it's something good that's causing the car to run too rich, so by fixing it you might get more power. I'm speculating that based on nothing at all, so you can almost guarantee that I'm wrong.

I have a manual and I got the letter, but since my Ralli is on the way to the body shop I'm holding off on just rushing in for a week or so.

I don't want to take it in with the damage, since I'm down a taillight right now.

I just got the exact same letter yesterday too, and I have a manual transmission. I plan to take it in soon.

Yea, I doubt it's anything urgent. I didn't notice a thing, I was there to get an oil change and have my sunroof fix and to ***** about the paint.
