How many Sportbacks are there?

Does anyone know how many Sportback there are in the U.S. or North America? I tried searching and came up with some various numbers. A couple posts had it at about 1500 to 1600 but another had under 2500 in North America. I just wanted to get an idea about how rare we really are.

I heard from the dealership that 2000 were shipped to the U.S., and I wouldn't doubt that they only sold 1500-1600

The car is completely different. I doubt the average person would even know it's a lancer! It's god awful ugly if you ask me. Being that you guys may be a little older than me (I'm 18) I assume it's because we have different tastes. I can respect that.. but you wouldnt catch me driving one thats for sure

Nice Pics.

A lot of people ask me about my Sportback, a couple of times at the dealer. I found out about then on on the dealer lot while I was having a car worked on. Most people never knew they were.

I like the idea, I just think the back end it to sqaure with the front end being that "beak like." With a kit, with the right curves they could look just awesome.
