I am going to install the ss braided brake lines on my RA. What issues are there with bleeding the brakes on an ABS system versus standard brakes (any special requirements or tools)? Snowey1

 

As long as you don't let the fluid level drop far enough to suck air into the master cylinder, it's pretty easy. The manual just says to start the engine to bleed the lines, but otherwise bleeding is done normally. Instead of starting with the line furthest from the master cylinder, though, start furthest from the ABS valves, so LR, RR, LF, RF.

If you let the fluid level drop far enough to suck air into the master cylinder, that's a bit more of a pain in the @ss. Just keep an eye on the fluid level, and don't let it get that low.

 

Hey, thanks for the info, I'll watch the level. The reason I asked someone at work was saying you had to modulate the ABS to bleed them properly? It sounded like a bunch of you know what. Snowey1
