Cracking sound in front right tire
-
About the skeaking noise at the back: In our local Mitsubishi club, many guys have already taken their RA in for that problem... the bushings where badly designed. Some even had them changed multiple times. Cold weather and road salt seem to be the common factors. According to the local dealer, new bushings were designed and the next time anyone goes to get them replaced should be their last time. Let's hope it's true... 'cause mine have decided they want in on the party too.

As I already said coutless time, in my case they said it was a collapsed spring from a defective batch. The spring collapsed only about 1/2"... it looks like that's enough to have it shift a bit.

You say you hear a thump when you gas it? The last time I had a car do that it was a CV joint going out. Have you looked at your boots to see if maybe it's torn and degreased? If it's not a CV joint, have your motor mounts checked out to see if you motor is moving around alot, if that's not it have the ball joints checked out. There really aren't a lot of things it could be after all..... Oh yeah, your sure it's not your tire hitting the fender well right? My 17" rubbed in the back and would occasionally hit the fenderwell if I REALLY ran over a speedbump hard, otherwise my only problem has been with rocks in the springs.

These cars are certainly finicky in winter or during any cold weather. I hear all sorts of weird noises in the winter for the first 10 or so minutes. Once the car warms up, they all go away and everything is fine. ??????????
Well, all the important parts checked out fine. My CV joint boots are in good shape, no grease leaking out or anything. The joints themselves "grundled" (isn't that what it's called when you move the joint throughout it's range of motion by hand?
) just fine. Ball joint wasn't sloppy, tie rod end was good. With the springs unloaded, they still had a little tension on them, so they're not bouncing around. Swaybar and endlinks looked good and tight. While I was at it, I changed my transmission fluid again, and ran a couple new wires from the negative battery terminal to the intake manifold and head. Might not help, but can't hurt.
The only thing I found was a small pebble under the lowest coil of the LF spring. I pulled it out, but haven't driven the car yet to see if the noise is gone.

Though when it's cold outside I certainly do more WHOOSHing then when it's warm. I love big nasty intakes
remember that your car is going to make more noises in the winter because in the summer the heat causes everything to expand. When it all shrinks in the winter the connections for EVERYTHING are looser than they were in the summer. Winter sucks.
EDIT: Except for the whooshing

when I turn from a full stop (left or right) i hear a crunching sound coming from the front right. It doesnt always do it and after i wash my car it doesnt do it at all. Also seems that it does it when my car is sitting for a while.
