Question New Sportback - specs?

-

Hey there people!

I hope this is not a repost... I was wondering if anyone new what the specs where on the new Sportback RA. I guess, what I really want to know is if they finally got the message and offered a 5sp version...

And did they change anything other than the (IMO ugly) front or did they tweak anything more?

First I've heard of it. Might be Canada only, as Mitsu didn't have it at the Detroit Auto Show. The only sportback I've heard anything about is the Evo sportback, which is not coming to North America.

YES! Finally something we get and you don't for a change!

The mystery remains though: What's better about this model year that makes them wanna put it back in the showrooms? It must be the 5sp tranny, right? After all, a bunch of guys (including me) would have gone with the Sportback if it wasn't for the automatic thingy in there...

The rest should be the same, since it's essentially the same car as the sedan... and as we all know, the RA wasn't changed appart from the high-on-canabis happy face...

You can have them

Dealers are giving them away 2 for 1 here!

Okay, thanks...

As I said, it has to come with a MT to be interesting to most of us car guys. Every Sportback on any lot out there comes with an AT...

So what? It's not like it's ugly (in my eyes anyway), no more than other wagons anyway. It's almost the same shape as the Mazda 3, it just has much more place to put stuff in while retaining the best that the RA has to offer.

Then again, you probably don't have two kids and a house to finish building. Sometimes in life, needs dictate what kind of products you buy. It's not just a question of tastes... it's a question of reaching the best compromise.

But for your info, it's not that much heavier... the only problem I originally saw with it was the tranny.

And BTW guys, I think I know why they would bring it back to the market here, but not in the US. It seems like it didn't sell in the US... but they sold just as well as the sedan over here.

To me, a wagon is better than a sedan, hands down. Yeah, the Ralliart wagon was, and still is, terribly ugly. However, if it had a MT, I would've bought it instead without question.

I don't like it's look, to me is screams old school Volvo. It looks too long for it's height (or too tall for it's length, take your pick). Those tail lights are rediculous, they need to be cut in half or blended into the tailgate, not running all the way up the corner.
