Need to buy tires and questions on 30k mile service

OK I know there is a tire area but I know more traffic is here. I am looking at replacing the POS Potenza on the RA. I want a tire that can do it all; meaning trudge through the snow and ice; and perform better than the stock tire in the dry. I don't want to have two sets of tires for the RA.

Also I am right on 30k miles, just above actually. What is the suggested service? I was thinking like this:
Plugs
Trans fluid
Check the cabin air filter
Check the brake pads
(Hopefully new tires)
Check the coolant, although that should be good for 60k
Oil is due at 32k, so I don't have to worry about that

Any more ideas!?!? Thanks!

1. Its way easier to have two sets of tires.

2. I'm also curious about the 30k service, I'll be hitting that this summer.

Trans fluid Yes, change that
Check the cabin air filter Pull out your old filter, hack it, and put in a chunk of 3M Filter media. Save $50
Check the brake pads Yes, but they should be fine. Mine still are at 60k
(Hopefully new tires) I'd still recommend 2 sets for anyone in Canada or a state that touches Canada
Check the coolant, although that should be good for 60k Check it, but I'm sure it's fine

I dont know what kind of Potenza's are on the RA (mine had rs-a's) but I have heard nothing but good things about the Potenza G009. Check them out on the TrieRack site. I just ordered a set in.

I have heard Perelli P-Zero Nero M+S (which is what I am going to buy this summer and ditch the POS bridgestones) is a great all rount tire also the BFG traction TA is good. I have no idea about the 30k service, I drive a mile to work (In the summer I ride my bike) I have 9500 miles on my car and I have had the car for over a year.

Hello Joe!

My Sportback came with the Potenzas...but I killed two of them in the Gymkanas!!! Now I have a set of BF gforce sport tires....way better grip that the stock Potenzas ....but then I don't have to deal with snow down here...

There are many 4 seasons tire out there....it is not a bad idea to check the tire rack site for info!

See ya later my friend!

(Ahhh...still in love with the pulley that you sold me...almost 10k w/o problems so far....)

I agree with javastan about the Pirelli's....I heard they are a kick *** tire (will probably replace my stockers with those after I am done punishing the RSA's).

About the 30k service.....there is a recommended list that is in your manual packet. Should be a maintenance schedule in there.

Don't forget about checking/adjusting your valve lash.

Belle Tire recommended the Toy Proxes 4, any ideas? It looks like a great tire.

toyo proxies t1s are the greatest tires i have ever had on any of my import cars, as far as daily driving and track performance. (of course drag radials work better at the track, but they dont do too well on the street :P) but like you said they are not all season.
