Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried taking my car out this morning and it started fine. I put it in gear and released the handbrake but the car wouldn't move. It was as though the handbrake was still up but it seemed to release as it normally does. I think that my rear brakes may have seized up. I haven't driven the car since this past Monday when I took it to get a wash that day. I came home and it has sat in the driveway since. Has anyone ever experienced this and is there anything I can do? The dealership is closed t'ill Monday morning. Please Help!!!

Is it cold outside? If so the water from washing your car may have froze and the brakes may be seized up.

It's 10 degrees celcius. It's quite warm and that's sort of why I can't see how this could happen.

Try tapping on the brake calibers lightly with a rubber mallot or something similar, or try to rock the car back and forth.

try pouring some warm water on the rotors and calipers see if that helps.

parking break is inside the rotor (it has a built in drum with tiny shoes) so unless its frozen which he says it isnt, that wont do much!

Mine did this a couple times after washing when it sat a couple days. I think it's just the rust layer that is on the rotors. I just put it in gear and gave it some throttle and after a clunk sound, everything was fine. The rust layer would often show as quick as 20 min. after washing. In my driveway that was pretty steep, I could leave it in neutral with the parking brake off and it would stay in its spot! If it is in the warranty period, you don't have much to lose.

10 degrees celcius is and should be warm enough to melt off any sort of frozen part...

I'd suggest getting your car hauled to a local shop and getting it checked out. Thats if any shops are open on saturday...

Break it free, most likely it is from the rust created from washing the vehicle and then parking it. And don't worry about the rust either, it is normal and will wear off rather quickly when you start driving.

Would there be anything wrong with using a little WD40 to help loosen the rust rather than just breaking it by giving it some gas?

I wouldn't use WD-40. Your brakes will cause it to smoke and possibly burn. It's gonna leave a lot of gunk on your calipers and inside wheel. Just give it a little throttle and release the clutch.

yeah , its gotta be the rust, eventhough you released the e-brake the brake pads are still stuck in that positon just try rockin the car back and forth like budwiserjason8 said that should break them free from the rust. you should be fine.
