Like they said, just break it loose. Do NOT use any sort of lubricant.

Just to explain why not to use WD40 or anything similar. Ask yourself why you want bigger breaks, to apply more friction to stop quicker right? Why do you lubricate something, to make less friction right? By using WD40 or some other petroleum product on your brake rotors, you might negatively affect your cars ability to stop. THAT is why it's a bad idea to use WD40 on your rotors, no matter what the old folks say. Plus everything everyone else said of course, smoking and residue etc. Don't worry about breaking your breaks free but DO worry if they don't release and you feel one or both dragging after say...20-30 ft or so? If they haven't broken free by then you might consider proffesional help vs transmission damage. Is that about right guys?

I dont know if its the same problem as my evo but when it gets cold out or I wash it in 40-50 degree weather and leave it there overnight same thing happens. I just let go of the clutch a bit and it feels like something broke free, then it moves freely. Nothing to worry about, i've done it many times.

Yeah, the brakes broke free but it took quite a bit of force and made a loud clunk. Everything is back to normal now though and the brakes work fine. I guess it was from washing the car and letting it sit for 5 days. Thanks for the help

Driving around with a locked rotor wouldn't damage the transmission? I wasnt' trying to infer that breaking the rotor loose would cause the damage, but driving around if it DIDN'T break loose could.

Anyways, it's good to hear that it was a simple fix evolite.
