Ralliart or XRS?
Ever notice how in any comparision ever done the Corolla is NOT included?
There's usually a Spec-V, a 3 GT, an Impreza RS, and Maybe the Civic IS.
Maybe I'm wrong here, but I've never seen a comparo with a Corolla XRS.
why not? because like everyone's said it's got no torque, it's uglier then ***
, and well, Toyota's aren't really meant to be fast...they're cars for my grandparents.
Not saying that the RA is the be-all end-all, it's not. It's a good car, for a good price, although I wish it had leather, hehe.
Close cars to consider would definately be the 3 GT(Honestly I would've bought the 3 over the RA if not the awesome deal I got on it, and I am happy with the car
), and maybe the impreza. Personally I'm not a fan of Honda at all, and think the new Civic looks as bad as the Corolla (Zing
), but the each his own.
If you like the Corolla best, buy it.

1. Make sure it is a M/T
2. Mods.....need to know what you want. My first "mod" was tinted windows.
Pulley is a good suggestion, search my posts.....I did a how to on installing one about a month ago.
Buddy your first Mods for performance should be, Intake(either RRM or Injen), Progress Springs for a nice, firm, not bouncy feel and the under drive pulley. You get a lot from those.
Acceleration- the pulley enhances it
Top End- Intake(CAI), will make a killer sound and awesome pulling power after 3k rpms
Suspension- Lets face it, the RA sits high at least for my taste. The RA lowered is the nicest cleanest car around. Expect a lot of punani for that alone

Gonna agree with everyone else go with the Ralliart -
as far as this guy ^ he's obviously clueless we're talking about Ra's and XRS's not OZ-rally's... the oz has a different engine all together.

thanks for all the info.
as far as what im going for, i want the car to handle like its on rails and 0-60 in about 2.5 seconds
im kidding, i know thats not possible, i want to go fast and turn fast without the car even thinking about getting loose...
i had a CAI on my 05 OZ-rally and it sounded mean, then i put the catback on and its like the intake isnt there. i like the sounds of the intake more than the exhaust cuz with exhaust its hard to stay quiet, with just an intake its all good
i want to keep in mind, i would like to still get good mpg.
and i know im gonna get the "keep your foot off the floor" thing, i just want to know how to keep mpg as high as possible regardless of driving style.

basically, i want to stay higher than 20mpg... highway, like 16 city is fine with me lol i drove an 87 camaro with a 350 in it, 5mpg is about all i could get out of that so yeah...
Ralliart will def give you way more than 20mpg highway, but in the city, expect to be dissapointed. I can get anywhere from 19-21mpg. Staying in 2nd or 3rd gear in MIVEC, is torque crazy and fun, but it's gas hell. I can watch my gas go down as I WOT, I wonder how the auto guys do. Thank god it doesn't take premium!
