Desperate for HELP!!!

Hi guys... I'm desperate for help....

I upgraded the stock brakes to brembos caliper and rotor off an evo. And at the same time, I'm using the Enkei WRC Evo Tarmac rims that is 17in x 8J x 35 ET with 215/45/17 tyres.

Problems now are:

(1) The whole freaking rim and tyre is sticking out of the fenders by almost 1 inch. I know that the rear fenders can be rolled and it wouldn't be a problem but the front can't be rolled. In the place that I stay... the authorities have a big problem with rims sticking out.

(2) The 215 tyres are too small for the Evo Tarmac which is suppose to be 235. Now whenever I do a speed turn at around 80kph... the car drift outwards (understeers) quite badly. Again I can't change to wider tyres than 215 becos it will rubbed against the inner wheel arch and the front lip.

No doubt the brembo looks good and is very powerful... but now the handling and look of the car is gone. Any experts here can give me some good advice please.

I"M REALLY DESPERATE.....

You need to get wheels that fit, plain and simple. If wheels with the correct width and offset (7.5" and 40-42 offset) won't fit with the brembos, then you either need to ditch the brakes or spend a ton of money on getting custom wide fenders made.

custom wide fenders will fix the rims sticking out.

if you cant go on without custom "chopping" your wheel arch, then i guess youll have understeer forever!! although, i suggest you do some custom work done.

I believe that the four previous posts actually have the same response. This calls for a

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!

If you want a big-brake kit, you might be better served getting RRMs. At $569 the price is stiff, but you won't have to have any bodywork done and your car won't have to look like a caricature of itself.

I think the brakes are fine, it's the offset of the evo wheels (check Noob thread new guys) is the main problem. Fender flares WILL NOT improve your handling by the way, you'll still have understeer no matter how far you flare the fenders! You'll have to give up the wheels if you want it to handle again. You DO want it to handle right? Good new is you can get a decent price for those wheels and be on your way to getting properly backspaced ones to replace them with. Even with the RRM big-brake kit you'll have to replace your wheels so pick some good ones out and let us know how it handles afterwards okay?

i think you need to just get different rims... otherwise its going to cause you more and more problems now.

17x8 is wayy to wide for the RA buddy. I have to say that it was a stupid decision to not do your research before you put those on. Ditch the tires and rim combo, and replace em with something that is RECOMMENDED for the car. Theres a hole thread about it in the wheels forum, and in the noob thread as said above
