Question painting questions?

I have been wanting to paint my heat shield and the guy at my local piant shop said calliper paint would be fine and could handle the tempature so I went out and bought some. Now from asking around i hear it will just chip off or melt. Has anyone done this with calliper paint? and what would work best?
Thanks

Caliper paint should be able to take the heat. Otherwise, look for some BBQ grill paint at the hardware store.
