2006 Steering Wheel

Just wondering the differences (feel, thickness), if any, of the 06 one compared to the 04-05. I have an 04 and it just feels cheap and I really don't like the way it looks. If it's any better I may look to swapping it in if possible. Evo wheels are nice, but I want to keep the cruise control, and also they're pretty pricey . Any input would be great. Thanks

P.S.: first thread!! I'm not a virgin anymore!!!

Here's pics for reference:

The 06 wheel does look better, but it looks like something you would see in a mid-luxury sedan.

I do like the look of the 06 better... But the fitment is the question I'm wondering also... If it fits and is an easy swap, might be something worth looking into...

The 2004 Ralliart steering wheel is awesome, it has stitching and all, that wheel looks cheap and ugly. The only problem about changing steering wheels is the airbags in them probably make it harder to do.

I've got an '05, same wheel as the '04, I like it. I've sat in the '06's the wheel feels the same , except the different shape.

The thing I noticed though is that it seems like cheaped out on the fabric, it doesn't feel as nice as whats in the 04'05, and I don't think they call it "premium cloth" anymore, which made me happier at the time that I got an '05 instead of '06.

Sure the 06 looks better, but it still has that four prong crap. Cruise control didn't mean much for me. I like the hand grip that the evo wheel has, plus it matches the shifter base

Also, the cruise control can be transferred over to the Evo wheel, just a matter of swapping clock springs (so I hear).

Thanks for the input guys, im assuming theres not that much of a difference then..
Evo wheel may be the best way then for me..I do like the IX ones, even though the only difference is their color, and matching with the shifter base would look great.

Does the EVO not have cruise or not have cruise on the wheel?

Because if it doesn't have cruise - adding it to the steering wheel will most likely not "enable" cruise.

Kind of like if your car make/model never came with a radio - the chances of a radio harness being in the dash are slim to none.

If Cruise is an Option on the EVO then there's a possibility your non-cruise EVO would have cruise if you installed the controls. If it was never an option on the EVO then the chances are installing the controls won't do jack.

No cruise control option on the evo...but there are aftermarket cruise options for it...im sure you could mod the wheel to use the cruise control "controller?" from the stock steering wheel though...
