How do you explain "Ralliart"???
How do you explain "Ralliart"???
When people ask me what I drive I tell them a Mitsubishi Lancer.
When they go "oh"... I usually ask them if they know what an "Evo" or "Evolution" is and 99% of the time I get "hell yeah".
So when they say yes I say that the Ralliart is 1 step down (really performance wise it's several steps down, but it's ES, O-Z Rally, Ralliart, Evolution).
And if they say no I tell them it's 1 step down from the 30k+ AWD Turbo sweet-as-hell Lancer Evolution LOL

Depends on who I'm talking to. If the person knows cars, I just say it's a lowered Lancer with a bigger engine. If the person doesn't know cars, but knows the Evo, they I say it's the Evo's lil bro.

It's no easier for us. I used to try to say "Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution" but people cut me off or start nodding their heads as soon as I get to "Lansu-" like the already know what it is.
So If I just shorten it to "Evo" or "Evolution" they'll nod like they know what I am talking about, but I can tell they really don't.

here's how I do differentiate:
ES - Base
LS - Mostly base
OZ - All show, no go
Ralliart - The show of the OZ, with a lot more go
and well
EVO - NOT SOLD IN CANADA, but if it was: AWD Monster = FUN

I like to compare it to the Evo since everyone knows about it.
The Ralliart is FWD, no turbo, and has a 2.4L engine.
The Evo is 4WD, has turbo, 2.0L engine, and alot more suspension tuning.
If any of you have seen my car, you'd know about the miscommunication over the sizing when I ordered the ralliart decal for my back window. Long story short. It ended up 1 foot tall and stretches all the wa y across the window.
So the other day, even with this huge label that you can't miss, this chick pulls up next to me and askes "is that an evo?" As soon as I said no, she stickes her chin up and speeds off.
In the long run, I like the RA. It makes it easier to filter out the know-nots.
