How's the Ralliart?

How are yall doing? My name's Tyler. I drove an '03 OZ. I've been considering trading it in for an '06 Ralliart. I'm looking to do this somewhere in June or July. I love my OZ, but 120hp just doesn't do it for me anymore. It's pretty sad when a Ford Focus 5sp. can beat me with my short little fat neighbor driving it. I just need a little more power. I have my subs in the trunk and if I have a passenger with me the car is just a dog.

And some of you will probably ask why I just don't mod my OZ, and the reason being is that it has 60,000 on it and I would rather just start with something fresh. And I can't afford an Evo.

Anyways, back to my initial question, "How is the Ralliart?" Is everyone satisfied with the overall performance of the stock engine? I haven't driven one yet because the two Mitsu dealers in my area don't have any and don't know when they'll get any. Are there any common problems with it that's happened between the majority of you? Is it worth the trade?

I talked to the dealer today and they said they are getting a couple Ralliarts in May, but none that I want. Silver, 5sp., Sunroof. But they'll call me when they get them in so I can come test drive one of the manuals. If I like it, they'll order one from another dealer with the options I want.

Thanks for your input.
Tyler

I test drove a regular lancer when i was looking at ralliarts just to see for myself if there was much of a difference or not. The ralliart had much better pickup and looked much nicer than the OZ. If you need convincing get your butt over to a dealership and drive one. You will be hooked then

Yep, fined a dealer, and drive it. I was immediately hooked when we drove it for the first time.

Pretty big difference. Have ridden in a friend's modded OZ (header, catback, piggyback, light pulley, some other stuff) and it still just doesn't move like the RA. However, he's going turbo next week, then I won't feel so hot

RA is a awesome car, though, I love it. Handles well and moves pretty quick.

Well your in for a real treat with the ralliart. Trust me, it beats a lot more cars then youd think. You can even beat mild h22s. Downside. Its loud rattly and you think its going to fall apart. But for some reason they havent.

if you're looking for a minor upgrade, at 160hp and torque you feel a good powerband through the RPM's. It handles good, understeer, underrated. People like to **** on this car because mainly, you hear from Evo drivers, who doesnt want their suspension setup and AWD? Not everyone can afford it, or for myself, its not legal in Canada. If your just looking for straight power I think you're looking for the wrong car. Much like the Evo, not only does it present itself as a sports sedan, but a family 4 door that can well fit a family of 4.

The engine as I've stated is a very well put out engine. THe MIVEC feature is similar to VTECH, minus the 10 second lag. Torque all around, nice looking curve.

However, I dont like the tranny on the 5spd, it feels sluggish at times especially in the lower gears.

I would get one. It is a fun car to drive, it has good power. I like the styling of the car. It takes well to bolt on mods also. If you do get one get the RRM pulley and exhaust and at least put in a K&N filter if not an intake.

The RA is a significant diference from the regular OZ/ES. The whole car is better in that its suspension is vastly improved and it looks good with a great stance. The power gain is easily noticable.
