Painting diamonds red
Im thinking of painting my mitsu dimond emblems or badges or whatever they are called, red. Before I do though I have a question......
Did the older lancers in the past have the red diamonds or something? Please explain. Thanks alot.

They weren't three seperate pieces like they are now. The entire emblem was one piece. And I'm pretty sure it was the entire mitsu line that had the red diamonds.

Do Not paint your emblems! I just was at a meet where one of the EVO owners painted his. Problem is, is that paint dosen't adhere to chrome well and it looked like a planetarium with all those silver holes poking through the paint. I made a special overlay for him to cover it up. I have red overlays that I made on mine and I've even fooled dealers into thinking they were stock.
Actually, if you take the time to do it right, the paint comes out much better than the vinyl... you just have to prime and cc... I used caliper paint on mine, so it is ceramic and THICK....
I'm sure theres ways to do it, you could even sand the chrome for better sticking surface, but more often than not, it looks really crappy in comparision to painting stock plastic parts. Overlays look stock and when you remove them you have a perfect emblem underneath. Can't do that with paint.
