I have tried the B&M (on an evo), and I have the Authority kit......guess what? They feel exactly the same! Plus the Authority shifter comes with a weighted shift knob which I love....no missed shifts.
I've since heald other weighted shift knobs, the "weighted" one that comes with the Authority shifter is pretty light. I think I'm going to be picking myself up a weighted GReddy knob. Going to LancerShop today, anyways, hopefully they'll have one on hand.

I have the greddy counter weight shift knob, it's amazing. Feels perfect in my hand; the shifting feels much better aswell. It does get hot... really hot, so fair warning. Still, it is worth it as it is so much better than stock.

If you think they're a pain to install, wait until you try to take them out to grease them when they start to seize on the pins that go through them. About a week ago, my smaller bushing was seized up pretty bad. I could shift 1-2 and 3-4 just fine, but when I had to do 2-3 or 4-5 it was pretty difficult for me, and almost impossible for my girlfriend.

Anyway, the salt they throw on the roads up here gets into EVERYTHING, and had started corrosion in between the brass bushing and the steel pin. Once I got the cotter pin and E-clip off, I had to use a gear puller to remove the bushing from the pin. I cleaned up the corrosion and greased the hell out of the pin and bushing, and put it back together.

Works fine again, but I can see this being something to do once or twice a year, rather than a "set it and forget it" sort of thing.

If that's the case, I'm definately not looking forward to that. Although I did put a lot of anti seize on when I installed them. I hope that helps prevent them from getting too bad.

I switched to the GReddy knob today. Shifting feels much better, but I think the knob is too small. What I really liked about the Authority shifter was the size of it, fit nicely in my hand. The GReddy is about 25% smaller. I'll get used to it, though.

I have the the Works Grab shift knob (6.1oz) which screws right on to their short throw shifter. Since it's threaded, there's no adapters or screws you have to mess with.

Like I said before the whole thing is expensive, about $200, but real good quality stuff.

x2 on top of the B&M Short Throw Shifter. I cut my stocky in half to get the retaining piece. No issues with that. My secret for not burning the **** out of myself in the Texas sun with the greddy? I keep a glove in the car, get out of the car, but the glove over the knob, get in the car, take it off, enjoy.
