Quite a few different suggestions fly around these forums, from B & M, Authority, etc. The only one I've read about that reduces throw laterally, as well as forwards and backwards is the RPW short shifter. They claim 45% reduction back and forth and 35% side to side, - which is incredibly short in my mind. It will most likely be the one I pick up when I'm ready to buy one. The one drawback however is the cost, its a bit more than some of the others, I was quoted $240.00, now, stupid me I did NOT clarify if that was AUS currency or in US $. Either way, it's what I'm set on.

$120 or so from Lancershop.com gets you the Authority SS kit which includes brass shifter bushing for under the hood and the console (which equals crisper shifts).
I have tried the B&M (on an evo), and I have the Authority kit......guess what? They feel exactly the same! Plus the Authority shifter comes with a weighted shift knob which I love....no missed shifts.

I have the Works short throw and like it... little pricey though too. Probably your best bet is that Lancershop one since it comes with the bushings too.

I have the 06 ralliart, which already has the short throw, but does anyone know where I can get bushings? I feel like its a little clunky right now

Actually all RalliArts, 04' and up, have a factory short-throw just like the Evo. We just mean a 'shorter' throw shifter. Our shifters are known for being 'notchy', not really sure about 'clunky', but bushings will only enhance the notchiness. Underhood bushings seem to help more so than the undershifter ones.

I contacted lancershop about their authority short throw kit and they only offer that periodically, so it's not avail atm. Regarding shifter bushings, I ordered the two piece speed source brass shifter bushings from lancershop and I love the results. Also, you can save yourself a little bit of a headache by just buying this extra bracket piece rather than using your original - some short throw shifter kits come with one already but I thought I'd mention it anyway. http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...6&cat=6&page=1 if you dont get the extra bracket and the kit you purchase doesnt come with one, I'm told you have to cut your shifter out of the stock piece, which I'd prefer not to do.

Just a quick sub- note on the RPW kit and there pricing you will find that even tho the original price may seem high once you have sent them back your original and stock shifter you get a refund I think of $100 - which could come off the price of the new headers that Accolade will be supplying for the U.S market

Also the short shifter that RPW give you is a complete kit not just a shortened stick that has to be fitted - the RPW one is a complete unit

I have there ralley spec shifter and it is the best thing ever it makes driving a lot of fun, those that like to shift fast and hard this is a must buy

^^by "complete kit" what do you mean? The Authority kit I got from Lancershop was complete (came with the shifter, bushings, and the plastic OEM piece you need).

The underhood brass bushings work great. 3rd and 4th click right into gear. They help the grind in 2nd a little bit too. They're a pain to install though.

Lancershop no longer sells their AUTHORITY SHORT SHIFTER PACKAGE. However you can piece em up together. For a minor investment, pick up the bushings, both shifter and underhood.

Dont forget to get the retainer piece!

WORKS looks like that would be the shifter to get in comparison with Lancershop's shifter. I say this because the WORKS shifter looks like it has a counterweight as part of the shifter (just as our stock shifter does). Lancershop's shifter doesn't have the counterweight welded on the shifter which is why I think they give you the heavy counterweight knob. Don't get me wrong, cuz I have the Lancershop shifter, the knob is ok but it takes getting used to. With the counterweight not being welded on, your list of aftermarket knobs to get is seriously made smaller if you want to keep that ease of shifting the extra weight adds. Most knobs are light and for me I love having that heavy weight on top of the shifter and I don't want to have to be forced to only being able to get counterweight shift knobs.

Complete kit meaning that you just unbolt the housing from the car and drop in the RPW it takes something like 15 minutes tops bolting it in... and that is including removing the existing factory surrounds so you can access the shifter...

it really is that simple... and as for having a nice weighted feel to it via counter weights and heavy knobs ect the RPW one does feel heavy but after a few days of driving you get used to it the great thing with theres is that there is no chance of missed gears it is so accurate you can not make a mistake when shifting
