Getting "Lethal" with the RA -- new video
Probably the best one yet, JANG. Well done... that was Tamalpias, right? It's very reminiscient of Calaveras, with the exception that you have the luxury of a divided road. If I can find an excuse to make a drive out there, I'll let you know and you can show me all the good spots. Where have you rally-xed so far? I wanna get started but my friend with an STi says a lotta the ones he's been to have been pretty tought terrain, which the STi is made for and the RA isn't. Have you auto-xed at all this year? I think I'll be at Marina in a few weeks.
That pic (minus the coloration of the background) was my background for weeks. Oh and I watch your 14min vid of Tamalpias before I hit up the mountains sometimes to get in the mindset (too dangerous if I watch WRC beforehand).
Keep the shiny side up and sweeeet video!

Yea definately a sweet vid. I gotta take the RA up for some fun runs before i put her away in storage for 6 months. I am thinkin the Mt. Tam area would be a good place. Is that where this video was at?

The vid is taken on Pinehurst and Redwood Roads back in the hills behind Oakland and Castro Valley. It usually has some traffic and a fair number of cyclists, so you have to hit it during the day. As I've mentioned before, it's also police-patrolled on occasion (seen them using a low-flying chopper and a car), so, proceed at your own risk!
I've only Rally-X'd at Thunder Hill, as it's the closest thing to us, sadly
Haven't gotten out there with the RA yet. As for the STi vs. the RA, well, the STi does have an inch more ground clearance, but I drove an ES and the Evo 8 on the exact same course and I couldn't say one was better than the other for the terrain. If anything, the regular Lancer platform's softer shocks & springs and increased body roll should give it more bite in turns. Narrower tires help there too. If only the track wasn't so frickin far away....
As for auto-x, nope, never done it. Doesn't interest me :-/
Hey guys, I really appreciate the support. Makes me wanna put together more good stuff for ya's, maybe minus some of the extreme danger. I'd appreciate any votes on my YouTube version -- it's my first YouTube video
