I bought the Magnaflow muffler part # 14829 which alot of people on here have on their ralliart. The guy at the muffler shop said there is no way that it can fit! At the back of the magnaflow muffler the 2 1/4 inch hole is in the middle of the muffler, and on the stock muffler the hole on the back of the muffler is on the side of the muffler, so if welded together is would be off. How does it fit on everyones car but not mine? Thanks.

Yea its the same way on my car. The shop took out the axel-back part, cut off the stock muffler and put the magnaflow on. The magnaflow does sit on an angle though but theres no problems and ive been running it for 2yrs.

I don't want mine to be on an angle. I know people on here have it on straight some how.

How much did you pay for it???
Can't the guy at the shop built the complete axelback instead of cutting and welding?? I know it might up the price a little but you will get the fit you want. I am planning in buying a Borla muffler and doing the same thing. Wanna keep my stock axelback just in case.

I could easily buy the axelback from RRM, but I know this muffler fits some how, and it's cheaper than RRM. I just don't understand how some people get it to fit.

you just have to get the bend to fit better, i don't know for sure but what it seems like is that guy is saying that the muffler won't fit without midding the piping to the stock muffler maybe? You might have to get the piping replaced with new stuff and at a different angle in order to keep the muffler at a straight and lined up look. Good luck with that, personally at this point i would just get the RRM one...

Thats exactly wat i meant, thanxs bruce, but for what he paid for it and what the shop will charge him for the new piping it will still be less expensive that RRM's. IMHO you should just tell the guy at the shop to do the new piping and dont canibalize your stock axelback. The instalation cost should not be more than ... $90 and it will be easy to install and/or remove in a later time

dont be a pussay, get that **** custom welded on there. mine installed was 190$, compared to RRM's 299+ shipping. all they got to do is made a S bend. not hard at all. this is what it looks like.

If he is telling you it won't fit you probably need to go to another muffler shop. The first place I went to when I got my highflow cat welded in told me it wouldn't work. It was a national chain store and I went to another location of the same chain store and they told me the other guys were all idiots. Sounds like you might be at a place full of idiots.

Just one place, probably expensive and I am sure you can find an exhaust shop locally.
