Service engine soon light came on

It came on about 2 weeks after I got my RRM header and downpipe put on, could it be something else or is it because of the header and downpipe? My car isn't overheated, making no weird sounds and it just seems perfectly normal? Should I assume it's the new parts and the light just came on delayed?

I know RRM has that peice that goes to the o2 so I may try that and then see...any suggestions?

Thats the downpipe because it removes the CAT. The CEL eliminator doesn't work at all, I've had no luck always about 30km's and my light goes on.

Didn't you have the highflow cat added? If so I would go to an autoparts chain and have them pull the code. Make sure you know the cause before you start trying to fix it.

Get the code pulled and reset. You could try making your own CEL eliminator and see if it works better than the RRM one. There's a how-to in the Evo section.

Alright I'll go to autozone tomorrow and get it pulled, I appreciate all the help guys, it's really wonderful having a board like this when questions need answering. If in fact which I'm like 90% sure it's just my header and cat set up...then can I make the light go off for that?

you can reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for 10-20 minutes, the light should go off but it is only a limited fix, because the next time you floor it it will probably come back on ......as for the cel eliminator mine doesn't work to well.......

Yeah it seemed to go on when I floored it, I'm just paranoid about it hoping it's nothing else, my ralliart has lately become like a son to me.

Yes you should get it checked right away then, I figured you didn't have a cat.

I have the cat from RRM the magnaflow cat that welds on, I also have the downpipe and header. I'm thinking the problem is one of the o2 sensors?

IT was the second O2 sensor after the catalytic converter. Any suggestions on what to do? OR should I even worry about it now.

hrm that's not a good sign for the guys who go with the RRM header and want to pass inspection. I would say reset the ECU, make sure you have torqued the O2 sensors properly, both of them. make sure the welds on the cat are solid all the way around too. If the light comes on again I would try the cel eliminator that came with the header. If you have it on already that is probably your issue, since you have a CAT.

The header, obviously, is different than just the downpipe. I have the downpipe and the highflow cat. Magnaflow is a very reputable company and the highflow cat is obdII certified so you should not be having this issue. I haven't gotten a cel since I put had the cat welded on, so neither should you.
