Well in my state for sure, that is.. Hello everyone, My name is Peter and I am going down to pick up my new '05 Ralliart this Saturday at the delaership.. Its an interesting story for sure..

It started about 2 1/2 years ago when I discovered the Ralliart and driving it just made me smile all day long.. What a beautiful car, very well balanced and fast! Excellent feel to it, great styling inside and out.. I bought a '04 Lightning Yellow 5 speed NO S/S and drove it home. Loved the silky smooth yet rumbly motor.. Damn thing revved was music to my ears..

Then I lost my job. I had to ditch the car. I was crushed!

Fast Forward to 2006.

I was driving my new Mazda 3 on a hot day and I was thinking to myself, damn car has no soul. Its slow, and sounds like a typical japanese sewing maching. Also did not like the glow instruments, radio was a pain in the wazoo.. No power when you turned off the key so you had to put up the windows while the car was still running.. blah blah blah..

Then I saw it... The Local Mitsubishi Dealer. And I thought to myself, Hmmmm... I wonder if they still make the Ralliart. I went in and while they did not have any to test drove, the nice salesman said I could drive his 2004 5 speed with the sun and sound package.

I fell in love all over again. It was exactly as I remembered it and his had 14k Miles on it. Still felt tight. The I drove a used 04 with 36K miles on it and it felt just as tight as well. WOW! I thought to myself, I have to get a new '06!!

Then...

DISASTER!!

WTF DID THEY DO TO THE FRONT END???? AND THOSE SEATS!!! OMFG!

In a word, they castrated the poor thing.. took away its identity and its soul. yawn!!!!! Looks like grandma's LS now.. It almost looks like they did it to save some money on the car as it looks way cheaper. And simpler to do..

So what to do? Do I buy a new one and say oh well.. or do I find a used one...

Well, that was an easy choice...

I will not buy anymore used vehicles. I never know what was done to them and that does not bode well for me.

I also will not buy something I do not like.. I will just get rid of it

So I wentout on a quest and found the last remaining '05 Ralliarts left and would you believe?


Its LIGHTNING YELLOW! only this time it has the Sun and Sound package with the side airbags.

I made the deal and boy am I glad I did. Sorry folks but the new grill looks very very boring and grandma looking. I stared hard and long ( like 4 days worth! lol! and for the life of me, I could not and will not like that new grill nore the interior! The interior has lost all its pizzaz.. I cannot understand why they got rid of the beak when they put it on the new Eclipse.. I thought that the beak was an identifier or a permanent symbol of Mitsubishi.. like the kidney grills of BMW's.. bad move in my humble opinion..

Well, I have been browsing here for a while and its nice to finally be able to post..

Nice choice, did you get a 5 speed or auto? Any plans for mods?

 

Its the stick.. Can't see the purpose of driving a Ralliart in Automatic.. No Mods yet.. Perhaps sticker rubber buts thats about it for now...

Quite honestly, I prefer the new style and did not like the 05 model front. That beak didn't do it for me but that's just me. The new one looks more mean (in my opinion of course) and looks much better.
