if you compare a Ralliart to a SRT-4 it obviously wont be anything special. Aint the same comparison any way you look at it(aside from the fact it has 4 doors, 4 wheels).

I wouldnt buy a SRT-4, or any Neon, because personally I dont like the styling, I think it's really ugly. I dont care how fast you made it, if a car looks like crap, it just hurts my eyes. I wouldnt drive a turbocharged cardboard box if ther was such a "car". Mechanical wise I got no f'n clue. Neons just looks like **** in my eyes

**no disrespect to Neon SRT owners!**

I could never bring myself to owning an SRT4. I don't care how fast or how much horsepower it can make, truth is... it's still a neon. While it may be fun to do burnouts, or buy new tires or do higway rolls... you would just end up buying something that was awd + turbo. I would suggest if power is your biggest concern, skip the middle man (SRT4) and just get an Evo, STi or even a 06 WRX. I would much rather get an 06 WRX than an SRT4. Sure it's not as fast in stock form from a roll, but from a dig... 06 WRX > SRT4. 06 WRX are running 13.7-14.0 in the quater mile from that 2.5L, mighty impressive. Traction will eventually have you pulling your hairs out because it's just not there.

Keep your ralliart and get an awd beast, plain and simple. Of course people are gonna OD in here and tell you get the SRT4 because it's turbo, who cares... its still fwd and its still a neon. Let see how long you own that car before saying, 'I should have got an evo, sti or wrx'.

If he's on a budget and doesn't want to make the car the fastest thing around an srt-4 is a great pick. An 06 WRX is going to be way more expensive than a slightly used srt-4. An srt-4 is a neon, an EVO is a lancer, and an STi is an impreza who cares. If you really like the srt-4 i'd say go for it.

No, that argument has been beaten to death and doesn't make sense.

personally, im in the exact same position right now. my insurance would love me to have a wrx, i would be giving them all my money. the basic WRX is 24,500 with no options, thats the Tuner Ready model. when you can go out and but an SRT-4 for 15k and put a bigger snail in that thing and be pulling 12's. if you know how to drive you shouldnt have any ridiculous traction problems.

im debating the srt-4 or a 99-02 camaro with an LS1 and a 6-speed cuz i can get 28MPG on the highway with that thing.

and the whole "neon is a piece, lancer is not neither is the impreza"

yeah i call BS on that my ralliart has been in the shop 5 times in 4 months, and guess what, none of it is my fault and none is due to how i drive it. its getting all new valves, timing belt, idler gear, serpentine belt. all because the lancer IS in fact a piece.

i will never ever buy another mitsubishi again. go for an srt-4... i love the sound of them too, so thats a plus

if you want a neon get one coming on this site and asking if you should get would be like going to a neon site and asking if you should get a lancer why not spend $5000 on a turbo set up for the lancer or if your tapped for cash leave your car stock.

I dunno. This one looks pretty sweet. 2005 model, 11.5k miles, Upgrades include mopar stage-2 turbo upgrade, mopar blow-off valve, mopar cold air intake, Injen exhaust and Injen down pipe(the Injen down pipe is not currently installed, stock one is in presently). There are no scratches on the paint no dents and interior is like new. THIS IS NOT MY CAR.

$17k asking

I would've loved to get an SRT but i paid 14k OTD (14k miles too) and i didn't want anything over 20k miles. Also we get some snow here too and i didn't want to deal with 230FWHP in the snow. lol

That is simply ugly.
I would never buy a used hi performance car. Who the hell knows what stick it was beat with ( besides the ugly one)

Whats the warranty on the Neon?
I find them to be very small inside with the A pillar verrrrry close to my head
I don't think they do very well in a crash either ( heard that somewhere numerous times)

Sorry, Chrylser has never ever been known for quality cars
I would stick with a Mistubishi over a chrysler product anyday

I agree with the others.. Buy a Evo.
