Question Rusty Lugs??

I'm running some generic chrome tuner-style lugs that came with my wheels. They're starting to rust around the edges. Even the more expensive gorilla locking lugs are starting to rust a little. Had them on through the winter. I'm wondering if I should replace them for risk of them getting stuck from the corrosion. Or is some outside rust harmless?

If necessary, I was planning on getting plain silver (not chrome) muteki lugs, which I believe are lightweight forged aluminum. So they should last longer right?

Well, aluminum won't rust, so I'd think so! I have Muteki lugs and have never had a problem with them. Just make sure you HAND torque them. I have to remind Discount Tire this everytime I get my tires rotated, otherwise their air tools can really jack them up.

Just put some anti-seize on the studs.

If you continue to let it rust it may stain your wheels too, I would go with some different lugs to be sure.
