I'm pretty sure Al will email you the file for the map he creates on the car. This way if the ecu get's reset all you have to do is plug your laptop into your car and download the flash onto the car again. Nothing too major.

Al's a great guy. He came here a couple of months ago to do some evo tuning so I tagged along with my buddy who was going to get his evo tuned. Al really knows his **** because the car felt like a whole knew car when he was done with it. I was amazed at how much of a difference there was. Al, are you making any trips back to CO anytime soon?

On a N/A engine gains from a flash are significantly less than on a turbo car - a cruel situation I know
Al I have a turbo ralliart.. Are you still here in PR.? They told me Sunday you were here last week at Sporty Dyno. If not when is your schedule to come back..?

Flashes are better as you're not tricking the ECU into using certain fuel curves and such. The ECU itself is changed to meet what you need. No splicing or anything like that. However, with flashes, on the Ralliart, you can't currently do them yourself. With a piggyback, you can do your own tuning. In the future, this may change as it has for Evo/Lancers (openECU) but that's a topic for another thread, so don't ask about it in this thread.

Flashing a ROM chip is actually putting new information on the chip. It can only be changed by flashing it again, no matter how many times you reset the ECU.

... maaaan, I would so be down for a weekend roadtrip, but im not investing anymore into her because she is gonna be replace with a IX. Somebody needs to get on this, QUICKLY. We complain about 'parts' for the car, yet when people do come through, threads go un-notice - dead and just fall to the next page(s).

I applaud DynoFlash for actually taking the time and doing this.

I would consider this route although the 2 hours of dyno time plus the custom tune could be like $600 later...
