How long is gas good for?

So the white ralliart I just bought has been at a dealership for about 10 months or so since new. The dealership I bought it from did not fill up the tank and it now has about 3/4 full. Me thinks this is old gas.. Now in the olden days, gas went bad pretty quick but what about now? Could 10 month old gas be the cause of my '06 not feeling as fast as the '05?

Also, is the timing adjustable? I noticed it should be 5 degrees BTDC +/- 3 degrees... I think I might have the timing checked.. If it were off, it should make a noticeable difference don't ya think?

30 days and gas is considered "not fresh"

You could try "sprucing it up" with some octane booster, burn through it, and then see how a fresh tank feels?

Or if you really think that's the problem you could syphon it out and fill'er up with new stuff.

OMG. 10 months. That's nothing dude. Just fire that itchb up and go. I left a car sitting for 3 years and cranked it, no problem.

I have also had a car sit for 2-3 years with a tank of gas, fired up and ran fine on it. If you're that worried about it, though, run it down to 1/2 tank and fill up with fresh gas, then run that down to nearly empty.

Your '06 probably doesn't feel as fast as your '05 because it's not broken in yet. Give it about 5000 miles.
