Redlining...
Redlining...
Hey guys,
So today I was giving driving the car a bit hard....haven't in a while so I thought why not...
Came to a turn - floored it - second gear and I redlined and before I could change gear I hit the cut off and the rev automatically dropped.
Is hitting the cut off bad?
The car seems fine, but just wanted to be sure.
Cheers

thers no problem with doing that , but when i was at the dyno i noticed power greatly decreases after 6.4k rpm. So if you're ever in a serious run (at the track of course) dont let it reach red line and shift before 6.5k rpm. Just my .02

All fuel injected cars do that. The fuel cutoff is there so u dont overrev your car and blow the $hit out of it. Nothing bad will happen unless you drive all day doing that.
The car is meant to run till 6500 rpms (redline) there is no need to rev past that unless you have replaced the internal valvetrain and have aftermarket camshaft.

If you release the gas just a tid, the transmission will shift. It's a matter of parctice. The auto will never reach redline while in drive.
