I'm all but out of the ralliart...

After looking around the area for some alternatives I've finally decided to get out and into what looks like a 04 WRX LE... I have my various other reasons but I think the main ones are:

1. I was going to eventually install a LSD, and would also have to buy a new set of tires within a month - it would cost over $1500 for the LSD and wheels and tires would cost another $1500 and still wouldnt be as good as AWD and I will be moving into summit valley, CO in a year.

2. This one isn't huge but my dealer is going out of business soon, and my expeirence with them has been nothing but bad. I know I could do the service myself but all of the perks promised to me were pretty much taken away.

3. Although I commend RRM and RPW for their support, the lack of parts available sucks. Performace wise there is 1-3 choices for parts and every wheel I liked did not come in a size that would fit.

I'm getting the car for a small portion over trade-in value but taking a hit on the trade-in because I can't find anyone willing to buy. I'll still be checking out this forum of course. Here is my part-out

Good luck with everything. The Ralliart seems to be a car that isnt made to be modified unless you have too much money to waste.

I'm not sure that the WRX parts market is all that much better than the Ralliart's. Most Suby tuners concentrate on the STi. Don't take my word for it, though, do some homework.

Actually there are quite a few parts out there. From what I could tell the wheels I really wanted would fit a scooby, and from just browsing one site there was about 7 different strut bars.

That and when all is said and done you'll pay twice to mod it comparibly to a stock WRX..

One thing I'll miss is the mivec sound, even though the boxter sounds mean.

I found a place that will give you a power package for the 06 WRX : 1550 USD for roughly 255 WHP

yea...PDX made the switch and said 230 Awhp can be had easily for $1000.... I guess a TBE does wonders.

If you get a WRX get an 04+. The 06's are the best yet.

You are still going to need to buy tires for that WRX once you get it. The stock ones blow if you like any performance. Although the RA and WRX are both four doors they are drastically different.

The 06 WRX Grill is ugly, but I'v seen different aftermarket grills that look darn right mean on the car. The 04 body style is the best looking WRX ever. However, the 06 does have the bigger engine which will probably help on the low end.

I use to own an 02 WRX. the stock tires are grabage (watch the throttle oversteer), there tons of aftermarket parts, but less interior room than a Lancer.

It's a tough choice, I know the new WRX has the 2.5 but the grill is garbage...altough some other newer features are nice. Its puts me still at a payment I didn't want to do. So I could get a new TR and not the 04' with the LE package or stick with the 04 and enjoy the extra options. I'm really not a fan of the new TR..

Thanks

Since I haven't picked it up yet I'm debating on getting the 06' WRX TR for a little bit more but I don't know if its worth it...buying a car is always to hard.
