Question on Downpipe...?

Does anyone know if the RRM downpipe would do any improvements on performance and sound? I just have recently done my custom catback exhaust and it sounded raspy for like 2 mins everytime I drive.. After the car is warm it sounds better but I'm just wondering what the downpipe would do..

Will make it horrible without a hf cat or cat. I may have a bad axleback form RRM but with my downpipe and axleback it was so raspy I hated driving.

performance wise if good but as for sound....... well 'honda-weedwackerish' sound.... you might try a bigger/longer resonator or a high flow cat

So if I get the downpipe it would even be more raspier? Oh s***t I don't like the raspiness but I heard the downpipe helps a lot on the RA. As for right now, I can only hear the raspiness for about like 2 mins of driving then it somehow goes away and then sounds really nice with a nice little rumbling sound, but not too loud. So I should get the Hi flow Cat if I get the down pipe? I dont really like the resonators because I heard it lowers performance of the catback exhaust. I just want to know before I buy it because I would be embarrass driving my car if it sounds like those Hondas that sounds like bees on crack.

Mine sounds good now that I have the complete setup from RPW. If you want to just sound nice then just get the axleback or custom make one. The stock cat is massive on the 04 and will quiet it down.

If you want it to sound "good", you will need a high flow cat, and the biggest resonator you can fit. No other way around it.

if you search for a thread called 'new rrm part' someone took a clip of the downpipe cat and cat back exhaust from rrm on his car. idles great but the high rev is a little honda-ish.

I should be getting my RRM downpipe thursday and hopefully will be in by the weekend. I'll post up some clips of it with the stock muffler although i may be getting a magnaflow one so i can post up both.

MAke sure you dont take the magnaflow's little built in sound filter from the muffler, I did that and it sounded NASTY on lower revs, but sweet and agresive when on the throttle

Nope, that's why i have been trying to get one. I'd recommend looking for one now before they're impossible to find.

Meh didn't they get around the same numbers with the header/dp combo as they did with just the downpipe? If you can find a downpipe they usually go for pretty cheap so instead of spending almost $600 on the header/dp you cou go just downpipe for UNDER $150.
