Raising Idle RPMs

is their a way to raise the rpm at which the car idles. I got the RRM motor mounts in which work great but a get a back massage at every light. If i take the car out of gear it drops dramatically (so manual may not notice it so much) or if the rpms raise even by a few hundred.

If anyone knows how to do that it would be kick @$$.

Idle speed is controlled by the ECU. It has a target rpm it shoots for, and will throw a CEL and a code if it's too high or too low. Sorry, no easy fix for this.

if the cars in neutral or park im fine. but if im at a light in drive or reverse its bad. i guess a manual wouldnt notice because you'd take your car out of gear or have the clutch pressed until you start reving to move.

See i'm retarded when it comes to this, so tightening the cable raises the RPMs or it does something else that will fix the problem?

It raises the RPM's. It pretty much has the same affect as if you were pressing down on the accelerator a little bit.

The only thing bad about doing that with an auto is that your brakes are going to wear out faster because it's like stopping with your foot slightly on the gas. It will also increase your stopping distance a little bit because the engine is going to be fighting the brakes more than normal. So, unless you plan on throwing it into nuetral everytime you slow down then I wouldn't recommend it. It will also be harder on your tranny when you shift from P to R to N to D because the motor will be at a higher RPM. Kind of like doing a weak nuetral drop. I think you would be better off just dealing with the vibs! Just my .02 though.

Now that i've put a hundred miles or so on its somewhat better but i wouldnt think that while im stopped putting it in neutral hurts it. ill just learn to live with it, seems like its getting a little better. maybe i just need to break it in more.
