Manual transmission drain plug/fill plug help

I am changing my manual transmission fluid to royal purple and i think i have found the fill/ drain plugs... the drain plug looks like a 23mm socket and the fill plug looks like an allen key will fit in it. can anyone confirm that these are the right spots please? i don't want to mess anything up.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!

Do NOT take out the Torx head bolt, it holds your reverse gear in place. If you remove that bolt, you'll be dropping your tranny and opening it up to bolt the gear back in.

The fill plug is right next to that bolt, though, it's a 17mm bolt that says "OIL" if you look closely. I posted a pic of it in an old thread, let me see if I can dig it up.

That big one is the drain plug, though. You were right about that.

EDIT: Here's the pic of the Torx head bolt, next to the fill plug.

and here's one of the drain plug:

Just a for a warning royal purple will take a lot longer to warm up and you may end up with a hard to shift car for the first 5-10 minutes of driving. I have royal purple currently i'm planning on pulling it out and putting something else in.

I filled her up with synthethic, Mobil 1. You need 2.3 quarts to fill it according to the service manual. Something funny is that the tranny now makes a scratching noise when I shift a hard third gear, so I dont know if to recommend synth. Aside of that, which happens rarely, shifts happens reeeaaaally smoothly

I had a strage meeting with a Mitsu tech as well, when asked about filling it with regular or synth, he said " Im not to sure if its good to put synth oil in it" which left me wondering, this guys know ANYTHING AT ALL?

When in doubt get a fluid as good as OE.

I used the Mobil 1 Synthetic you are talking about and so far everything seems good.

I guess that it is my shifting habits... I really tear her up. But that little issue I pretty much doubt it has anything to do with the tranny oil.... More like the restrictor plate for the clutch line slowing shifting action

That has nothing to do with releasing the clutch or shifting into the next gear, it only slows the clutch engagement. If it bothers you that much, open up the cylinder the restrictor is in, and take the springs and plastic bits out.

Yeah, but that's $$. Removing a few small bits and bleeding the line only costs a couple bucks for a bottle of fluid.
