I didn't think we were doing that bad a job, really. Most of the How-Tos I've read have decent pictures, and some of the bigger projects, like Diavlo's, are lacking only a bit of writing to make them truly great tech threads.

I'd like to see less bashing in Show & Shine, but when people post up asking for other peoples' opinions, they should expect some bad with the good. I only step in there if it gets out of hand.

Oh, and mine was Lab Black when I parked it last night. Now it's white and about 8" taller. Off to the snow pics thread.

When somebody asks for an opinion people can go with a little more mature at times. Make a suggestion of what you think would be better, not just blindly cut down the idea

For example:

Poster - Should I get this ebay 5 inch muffler for my car?

Reply 1 - No you fnck tard ricer! That will sound like hell! go buy a honda civic

Reply 2 - I think that the RRM axle back exhaust might be a better choice

Reply 2 obviously is a better response, but I see too many of Reply 1

Well, otter gave the same answers I would have, so . . . not much else for me to say.

Myszkewicz - I wasn't saying anyone's doing a bad job. It's just that the Lancer and Ralliart sections are like a smaller part of this website. And that shouldn't be. There's no reason that we can't have articles and a tech section as well. The users just need to get it going. We need to make EvoM more of a community.

I wanted to see what was going to develop here for this topic before I just jumped right in. If I understand what is the main accomplishment here is to write articles for the Ralliart like what are here: https://www.evolutionm.net/features/.

In order to do this we need to have someone faithful in the calling to donate their car to the cause. The car is not the only aspect though. The owner must be able to clearly and with an educated manner approach reviews or questions on the platform. This person will not be the end-all be-all for the platform but they better be on top of things.

If these features are good enough it will attract people to look at the Ralliart area. Right now we could open a Technical section or any section for that matter and the only people that would visit are the real faithlful Ralliart members right now. This will not change until you start gathering the interest from other members and complete outsiders. To gain this interest you have to do something that has not been done.

I would be willing to step up and create something. But I cannot do it alone. The few vendors that make anything for the Ralliart will need to take a bite at this offer and work with whoever is maing these features to make it technical. Not just give them parts and say here you go. For instance, it would be good to know why the RRM downpipe is made a certain way; why the primaries are the size they are, the fabrication involved. Not only will this help sell their product it will allow a spotlight at products they offer and why people should buy from them. As a vendor on EvoM you(the vendor) has an opportunity to do more than just sell things. I have watched GSC Motorsports start really small, to now where they make many products for the EVO and many people trust what Greg Caloudous (sp?) has to say. In this accord he is pushing his vendor ability one step further...not just selling things, rather marketing them and showing members why to trust him and his products as a vendor.

No rant...sorry for the speech here.

If you want to get this section moving, get the Ralliart VS. Thread back up at the top. Check at the EVO section, its stickied. We're not allowed to compare our cars to anything else. Overmoderation kills forums. Say what you want, but we are definitely limited in topics that we can discuss. Theres limited mods for our cars, whats done has been documented, and most major topics are stickied and newbs are directed to stickied posts. If the Ralliart section were a book, it would have been written, published and is now in the bargain bin. Nice tidy and all wrapped up. This section was fun as hell in 2004-05. I hope it gets like that again in the future.

A lot of people miss that thread. I'm willing to bring it back, however, my big concern is the street racing. People just couldn't stick to that basic rule and I don't understand why that's so hard. We can try it again, as we do have more moderators (I think when I got fed up was during that time I was modding this section by myself.) However, if it continues to be the problem that the last thread was, I can't promise it'll last very long.

Otter, props to you. I hope it all works well.

Some consequences for members discussing street racing:

1. Temporary ban.
2. Banned from the Ralliart Vs Thread.

It can be open, the rules just need to be enforced if someone steps over it.
