Ralliart owners, I'm calling you out too!

Do you have a Ralliart?
Do you have a camera?
Can you write well?

Then get on it.

After talking to Ali (the site owner, if you didn't know), he really wants to get things going in the Ralliart section. For a lot of people, the non-Evo sections of Evolutionm.net are just a 2nd thought. We were here first. Lancers came in 2001 when fans were still drooling over JDM Evos. Ralliarts have been around a few years and have a good following. Why continue to fall behind?

In recent times, there's been a lot of rudeness and bad attitudes. We've lost some really key members who were/are doing some special stuff. This needs to stop.

We need to start showing that the Lancers/Ralliarts are important too. We need some feature articles about Ralliarts. We need some good tech discussion. We need to have some serious community.

There's talk about starting a "Lancer Technical Discussion" forum like the Evo owners have. Can we make that work? Can you folks who are out there doing serious stuff start deep, thoughtful conversation about it? Can our vendors do some contributing through articles and discussion instead of only advertising? Just a glance at the "Latest Features" section of the homepage shows one article that's a Ralliart. Let’s see some Ralliart owners putting out info. Let’s see some vendors making articles about their products or project cars.

If you do something cool with your car, take pictures and write up and article about it. We'll feature you on the Features section of the site. If you are (or are thinking about) trying something new and cool, post about it and get a discussion going.

Let's make something out of this section. Let's put Lancers back on the map.

Whaddya say?

Some of the key members have either been lost to:

1. Stolen Vehicles
2. Crashes
3. Newer Vehicles

If we need some feature articles, I want to be the first to say, Retro, Chowetime - start an article lol (if you're bothered)

Just be sure to have a mod to have a members a** handed to them, cause seriously, when someone comes up with something good or what not, there is always some idiot out of the discussion who has to say - "thats crap".

I think it'd be a great idea. But because the RALLIART itself is such a minority, owners have a hard time giving half a **** about it.

I love my car and I'd love to do that stuff you listed, but even if we do get some people to do some articles etc, are there people who are gonna appreciate? Often looked upon as a POS, it seems hard to publicize an article/feature when there is hate on Ralliart owners.

That's not quite what he's after.

In regards to feature articles, there's a lot of you on here that could put one together. Take a look at the existing ones for examples. One idea, if you're doing a few upgrades at once, document the entire process with pictures and writing, polish it up (as in check your grammar) and submit it. Some of the users here have done, or are doing, more major projects. Diavlo, Thunder-Rush, and ModernRacer I'm looking towards you. All three of you could easily throw together a feature about your Ralliarts, as you've each done your own major and unique projects.

As for the technical forum, look at the Evo's Tech forum and their rules, that'll give you an idea of how it'd be here. It's a very heavily moderated section, and it's something we can handle, especially since there are now four moderators keeping an eye on the Ralliart village.

In all honesty, the people that look down on the Lancers/Ralliarts are in the minority. Most Evo owners came from something much slower, and I know they respect what we do. Pay no heed to the few loudmouths who think we're less of an enthusiast because we don't drive the same car as them.

On the note of seriousness, flaming and cutting people down in show and shine constantly should stop. I am guilty of this as much as most of the others are on this site. Mods some of us see as pointless will be done to Ralliarts, it happens with every car, but the person who did it thought it was a good idea at the time and may or may not be proud of their work. Mature discussion can be made and pointers should be given rather than yelling RICE! at every chance possible.

Lets help this forum make a step in the right direction.

Well, when you decide to start modding, take a look at the How To articles that are stickied and make one up like it for the part you install. Even if there is already a how to on it, your incite and the way you did something might be better or easier than the way somebody else did it.

Not enough of the how-tos have pictures. I think they would be much, much more helpful with pics. ReTro's how-to on the sway bar was really helpful with the pictures.

I think this is a great step forward for the greater community and as long as it is very well moderated and does not get side tracked and all objectional information that is posted about the said "Project" or "How to " is backed up with an alternative way of doing something rather than just saying the usual "that is crap..." or vendors bashing other vendors...

This is a great step forward for the site and the club well done guys
