RRM Catback Review

I ordered the RRM catback for my 04 lancer ralliart- $460 + shipping. It was a 2.25 SS (stainless steel) piping with a 3.5 inch muffler. I ordered it last Sunday and it came last friday. It was a quick send. The install was done by a store. My dad was too lazy and complained and etc, the store overcahrged us $100 but my dad was paying so i couldn't argue. The install was somewhat easy if you have the right equipment to jack up the car and get under. The bolts were fairly hard to get off. The only drawback is that the Muffler had two " lines coming out. One is easy, the other i had to decipher from the picture. Just to say you guys in RRM need to send better pics because it was slightly confusing. The whole thing was a big puzzle to put but was easy if you have the necessary tools. I would say 1 hour of work at the most.

But all in all, the exhaust was beautifully crafted. The sound is awesome, not ricerish. Its deep and nice. It takes a little time to warm up but when its warmed up, be prepared to zoooom. Also if you drive under conservatively around 2.5 rpms, you won't even hear the exhaust - sounds like stock. When you give it the gas, the car responds. Performance wise, i think i lost a little torque but gained top-end HP. This exhaust gets 10/10. Props to RRM

mmmmmm sounds really nice. Not too loud, and not ricey at all. I'd love to hear a drive by clip of it to see what it sounds like under load.

I have the catback as well, although i find that on the highway its a bit noisy when you're trying to talk to your family as you drive them to a dinner party.. haha (I'm the son.. they hate my car) But overall i love the kit and with the SRI i balanced out with the low end loss. Good find, i'll do a video and sound clip when i get some better sound equipment cause my mic isn't working on my camera right now. I've also had the exhaust since august and haven't had any problems with sound or anything besides the senior citizens that live in my neighborhood (I downshift a lot instead of braking).

I have a cold air intake, and read that you losse abit of lowend tourque with this. By adding a catback exhaust , will i loose more lowend tourque and just add more highend tourque ? asking cause my exhaust is going to be my next mod. have my eye on the RRM catback, but don't want to loose more lowend power than i have already lost with the coldair ?

Yes you will low end no matter what exhaust you put on. Anything bigger than stock.

I added a CBE, and I have no more low end grunt like I use to. Mid-high end is slightly noticeable, nothing over-the-top. I'm actually quite disappointed as I really prefer low-end and driveability, but with a tune coming soon, all my problems will be solved.

Hope this helps.
