Heater Fan

Just wondering if anybody else has had a problem with there heater fan not working. Because for the 2nd time mine has stopped working in the middle of the winter when its like -30C and its really starting to **** me off, cause its almost impossible to drive the car cuase it fogs up instantly. And i whent to the dealership over a weekago and im still waiting for them to call me back when they get the part in. A Fan Blower Motor Resistor.
Thanx

You could always bypass the resistor and clip a nice thick wire across a couple terminals on the resistor plug and have the blower run full blast. In -30C weather, that's what I'd do.

There is a recall campaign going on (I received the letter on saturday) about the radiator fan actuator on 03 Evos and 04-06 Lancers. The good thing is that if they have the part, it only takes about 10 min to install (thats what they took on mine).

Hmm I also live in Canada and It seems that my radiator fan has been acting up. When I start up the car, the fan will turn on and off by itself many times as if it has a mind of its own. It happened once or twice so I don't know if this recall may have something to do with it.

I couldn't figure out how to replicate the problem twice. I just know that once my fan started running when I put the ignition into ''accessories''. The second time, I started my car and went out to clear the snow on my car. Then I heard the fan going nuts turning itself on and off a few times. Anybody else have this?

Sorry I didn't mean to bump your thread like this Benny_Ralliart. I figured it might be a related problem.

There was a recall for what you are talking about. I got the card in the mail for it and never did go get it done as I mine seems to be working fine.

There is a new recalll regarding that problem. If you dont have a letter go anyways and fight the dealership over replacing the fan computer module. They replaced mine 2 weeks ago without letter... then this week the letter came in the mail.

You wont miss the sound of the fans either....at least I dont

His issue was with the blower motor, not the radiator fan controller.

3 rounds is a lemon in my state...

My Radiator fan has been going awol on/off like crazy the last couple of days.. other than that my heater fan has been holding strong, maybe your car just hates to be warm inside?

That's funny. At least spring is around the corner and you won't see -30 for awhile.

true, i was at the dealerhsip again today and they said they would do a load test on the fan motor to see if its drawing to much power, so they might replace that to, and they said they might try to put in a bigger fuse into and see if that works.
