My 06 RA(manual) has been making some weird noises lately. it only has 7000km on it.

some of the sounds are

1. noise from the back trunk area... when the car is warmed up predominentaly, theres a slight rattle, sounds kind of like a back hatch rattle on an older van.

2. noise/vibrations from front... i thought it was the struts but after the dealership took it an and gave the struts a clean bill of health and told me the struts were just dirty... im questioning it because now there clean and still making noise.

3. there a noise coming from the engine, sounds kind of like a fan or belt problem and can only notice the sound when iddling for a long period of time, orturning of the engine.



anyone have similar experiences? am i just being paranoid or should i be looking into this stuff.

 

wait till you get the suspension squeak.. haha i had one for the last couple of days, until i washed my car and sprayed the underside it went away. Just some dirt buildup on teh bushings i think.

 

1. Probably the rear deck
2. Possibly the metal clips around the windshield, they're known to rattle. A bit of felt can fix that
3. What kind of sound?

 

Sup there buddy lol. U jus joined the Mitsu Lancer network of ralliart where odd squeaks and rattles is the usual sounds u will hear

 

im having vribrations in the front and when im going like 65 its really bad, I think it might be the alighnment

 

i get a bad squeak from my front right side when i get a minor potholes or slight imperfection on the road

 

Probably a dumb question but did you check your license plate bolts (loose)?

 

wait until your dash starts rattling, exciting times.

 

....or when the whole front steering/suspension assembly falls off and you crash into a wall like my brother's ralliart.

 

You people are making the Mitsu's sound like crap. Come on - it can't be all bad. It's not going to fall apart on him. Is it?

 

LOL - this thread is a tripp! Isn't it funny that our cars make all these freakin noises! I got the squeak, rattle, and roll too. I just ignore it cause i know it's a mitsu and not a chevy! LOL

 

+1 on that my whole dash rattles glove box w/o anything in it and gauge cluster rattles

 

It's not worse than any other car in our price range, even my brothers Impreza's brakes squeek, rattles, and makes other suspension noises, and he has less KM's than my RA.

 

all i know is i love my RA!

 

yea i love mine too, although mines relatively new so i havent had any real problems yet
