cooling fan controler... go get this checked out.. the main thing that happens is that the cooling fans (at radiator) keep on working for more than 3 to 7 seconds after the car is shut off, when the car is off the fans are on, the fans are running constantly when cold (and a/c off) or the fans not working at all

campaing goes for lancers 2002-2007, 2004-2006 outlanders, and 2003 evo

i got the campaing letter yesterday but i dont have the ra anymore, just the outlander...
in the event this is a repost well sorry...

 

does include the north american lancers since your in PR

Bla bla bla....This service campaign replaces the campaign from September 2004. The Cooling fan Controller needs to be replaced even if it was replaced due to the previous service campaign.....bla bla bla.

 

i dont see why not, PR is US territory...

 

i havent got it hmm maybe when i go to the dealership to pick up my parts i will talk to them about it

yeah i wondered that too, only b/c the only 2 ppl who posted saying they recieved this letter are from PR. maybe just doesnt like americans so they forgot to send us the memo

 

or maybe you guys have to much of a cold weather to notice this yet.... but here, is hot and humid 24/7-365
so yes things tend to get f-up from time to time....

 

So it said that it'd have to been replaced again? even if they did the previous fan controller replacement on the car? That's just crap! I hate going to the dealer for anything...

 

what they replace in this recall is the little black box behind the drivers side fan.. that thing gets FUBAR and may cause overheating

 

yeah havent gotten anything here for that.

 

Yep, I got it to, thank goodness its just a 15 minute job including paperwork (at least where i got it serviced).

Seems that they love us a little more...or maybe the van with all the USA owner notification letters is stuck somewhere in North America due to a snow storm...

 

I got mine two days ago and yes I´m from P.R. I think Mitsu loves us more because we have more Lancers per square mile in the world.
