Tranny fluid change.

so i wanna keep the momentum going with the car maintenance,
so next on the list for 30000 mile fun, i was thinking tranny oil.
I know im supposed to use SAE 75W-85W or 75w-90
(reading the owners manual does some magic)
so before i go forth, i know now there isnt a dipstick for my 5 speed
(thanks otter) so i was curious,
if i get my pan off, how do i get the fluid back in there?

also secondly, myself and this old motorhead i work with
have been talking about synthetic oil, and i boasted that i use mobil 1 synthetic.
we both were curious, do they make synthetic tranny fluid that would work
with the RA's? Wonder if it would be worth looking into...

For the flush of your transmission oil, you don't need to remove the pan. There's a bolt to drain it and when it will be empty , you put it back on. After that, there is another bolt a little more higher on the transmission. (I think the bolts are 17mm if I'm not wrong.) Remove it. Put the oil in the whole until it flow down. Then just put the bolt were it was. Clean up the transmission with brake cleaner or something like that and enjoy you Ra.

I have pennzoil syncromesh in my tranny and synthetic oil works great. 2nd gear shift better when it's cold outside than with regular tranny fluid.

I haven't heard anything good about Royal Purple in our transmissions. As far as synthetics go, BG II and synchromesh are probably the only ones I'd try. Never hear anything good about the others and our transmissions.

Manual tranny service is every 30,000 miles, $MIVEC$.
