Un-Friggin believable...

i cant catch a break with this car, i mean i love my RA to death but i just cant catch a d@mn break!...the weather is gorgeous out soo i decide to go and repaint my brake caliper due to chipping over the winter. soo i start to unscrew the lugnuts and im on the last one and its a little tougher to lossen than the others, well i end up getting it to budge and sure enough what happens...the lug screw ends up in two pieces, half still on the car and the other half in the lug nut..

...now mitsubishi were the last ones to have my car and put my tires on soo could this be a result of them putting it bac on too tight? and if soo is something like this covered under our warranty or do you think theyll cover it? ...it just makes me want to cry because its like everytime im going to be getting a lot of money it seems like something goes wrong with the car that makes me spend it all

no probs mang....you'll have to pull the hub off to change out the stud that broke off....the reason this happened is that the tech Overtightened the wheel with his air gun....always HAND TIGHTEN lug nuts...that way they dont get Overtorqued and this wont happen....I would contact he service manager and tell what happend it may be covered....

Yeah dude, take it back to the dealer if theyre the last ones that touched it. I mean, its not a wear and tear part so something like that should be covered. Its the tech's fault.

I sent you a PM by the way

That looks awful.

Let Mitsubishi have a look at it. Is that boltsnapped in half cause thats crazy. If they put it in too tight, then thats the result, probably threaded the bolt and weakened it.

Bummer...Good thing it is an easy fix like everyone mentioned, but such an inconvenience...Crap like that happens to me all the time! I just put on new rims Thursday, took it to get it lowered slightly the next day and two of the rims got a mark on it where the guys tried to either take off or put on the wheels. So much for brand new rims

I just switched over to my summer tires and god damned the tech at the tireshop who patched my tire tighten them so much that both me and my friend were going at the wrench and couldn't get it until finally i got it to budge after bouncing a bit on it hard.
