Arrow 51k service? i need some help-

hey everyone! i just need some quick advice on what to do.

Tomorrow I'm bringing in my car for the 51k service. It costs about $500 which is a huge rip-off!! This is what they are going to do:

-Replace the air filter
-transmission service (flush fluids, and other stuff i have no idea about)
-injection service (another thing i have no idea about)
-coolant service (again, wtf is this?!!)
-plugs (im guessing spark plugs? lol)

theyre giving me a loaner for about 3 hours and I told them i want to see what they replaced .. hey it doesnt hurt to ask!

now do i really need all this? my dad is a deisel mechanic and he said i dont really need the coolant service and transmission done yet. what should i do? each thing is aboiut $130-$140 to get done and I'm so broke !

help a sista' out! ... asap!!!

Are you taking it back to the Mitsubishi dealer? is so STOP dont take it there, take it to another independent mechanic service station they will probably charge you 200-300 dollors less then the dealer... and they will only change what you want them to.

Transmission fluid for a MT should be done every 30k. If you have an auto, check your manual for service intervals.

The injection service and coolant service are completely unneeded and they're doing it just to make money off you. Our stock plugs are good for 90,000 miles, too, so you don't need that.

I change the Spark plugs half way through their life because I've heard that if you leave iridiums in that long, they fuse themselves stuck in there.

I'll have to say if its a Mitsu dealer, then yep, don't take it there.

As ox663bender mentioned, take it to an independent mechanic who will charge you so much less.

Dealers always say they will add this and that, but they don't even add nothing.

RIP OFF

Injector service is unnecessary.
Spark plug service is unnecessary until 90-100k.
Coolant should be changed yearly, any independent mechanic would probably do it for under $50.
Transmission fluid is easy to change in an M/T, and should have been done at 30k. Fluid should cost anywhere between $10 and $45, depending on what you put in.
Not sure about A/T. Again, independent mechanic will be cheaper than Dealer.
Air filter is $15 at any parts store, and easily changed in under two minutes in the parking lot.
