shift knob???^^^....since we're on this subject and such I came across this idea, I'm not saying it's the brightest one but tell me what you guys think in functionality,no negitive comments please , if you think it's not a good idea, just say "not a good idea", and a few reasons......Ok , so finally what I'm talking about , those of you that have removed the leather cover covering the shifter, you know that knob that is in the middle of the shifter??Now if you were to cut the top half of the knob off and then use a die to re thread it then reassemble everything....so let me know...I'm not doing this I'm just curious to know .....

Install was easy. The underhood bushings were the hardest part.
Just be careful removing the stock bushings on the base of the shifter if you get the brass ones. I cut my thumb pretty deep on the plastic.
If you get the SS, the bushings are a must.....they make the shifts feel much better. Not as "spongy".

The ring around the shifter is stock.....just painted like the rest of the center console (black instead of stock silver).

That comes with the Authority shifter. It is a weighted knob.

The only bad part about it is that since it's polished, you will get your fingerprints all over it in no time, and if you let the car out in the sun, it will get quite hot. I just left the stock one in for the sleeper look (although when fully tightened the shift diagram ends up sideways).

Well, IMHO any part that you cant see but is there and helps make a car better, is a sleeper mod. Remember that this SS only shortens throws about 20%(so the overall shifter height doesnt change much), so if you have the stock knob, no one will notice its there except the ones that know its there.
