ATTN: WA RA owners

If you are interested in helping us crack the RA ecu so we can use ecuflash like the evo guys to tune, please PM me and let me know. There is a member in Washington state who has been one of the lead guys in cracking the evo ECU, and he is interested in helping us with ours! post here, or pm me and I will contact him about it.

Really we just need someone who is willing to have their RA in WA when he is available, it doesn't matter to me if you live there or drive 500 miles! PLEASE HELP THE RA COMMUNITY!!!

How about 500....... thousand miles?

I've been up for testing with RPW on many occassions!

It's funny you ask, because as the saying goes, "Dan the man, if anyone can do it - Dan can!

the tactrix cable, ecuflash software is all. the wideband will help you tune. the software is the problem, at least that's what we think at this point. MalibuJack mentioned that his opinion was the boot loader or the actual interface. I have since determined that the interface is not CAN bus, which is what MJ had thought. the main problem then would appear to something in the initialization, the software is looking at the wrong address or some other simple fix. The problem is that all the people with knowledge of ecuflash have Evos, and therefore a different ECU. we need a donor ecu for MJ on Long Island (ralliart329 said he would help, but it appears he is leaving for the evo seen soon, and MJ is too busy at work to spend time on someone elses car and I can definitely understand that ^see above ), or a donor car for johnbradley in Washington state. That's why the thread is asking for WA RA owners, MJ's busy. I haven't even spoken to johnbradley about this since he asked for a donor car in WA.

by the way, donor car implies someone willing to meet and work with one of these guys, not someone donating there car.

and by the way, this will only let us read the rom. We still need to know what addresses do what in the rom.

Basically I am saying this is step one, and who knows how many steps will be needed to decipher even the SIMPLE things in the ECU.

we don't need the sub, but I will PM malibujack and see where he stands on this.

btw, this will help your application IMMENSELY, no need for the SMT 6, unless you still wanted to lambda tune on the fly.

Actually Dan I forgot to tell you .....
I will tune thecar like this
SMT-6 for open loop
CLOSED LOOP LAMBDA FOR FUEL ECONOMY I will use this : please guys read the first item on this link , you can't use it to adjust fuel on our cars because it doesn't work with frequency but it can be used to modify the lambda signal and couple with a wideband WALLLA !! closed loop tuning . DAN take a look at the other kits you might find them pretty cool and useful.

your car should run stoich in closed loop. the cat will not be as effective at other AFR's and will not last as long. you say fuel economy, so I would assume you are trying to lean it out a little under cruise? leaner than 14.7:1?

I have the innovate motorsports, and it has two 0-5v programmable outputs. the options are x voltage to y voltage, and a AFR at x to b AFR at y. in other words the default narrowband signal is .1v at 14 AFR and 1.5v at 15 AFT and could be changed to trick the ECU by changing the 14 to 13 and 15 to 14 to force the ECU into thinking it is controlling the AFR properly. I am not sure if it will cause a large discrepancy between the front sensor and rear sensor, but if it did my wideband controller has TWO programmable analog outputs and I can log the values in evoscan if you need them for reference

We'll see if the stock ECU is capable of adjusting CLOSED LOOP with the WRX injectors if it can't then I will tune LAMBDA perhaps with the output of the wideband as you say...or with the kit on the link
