Intake Manifold > me

That thing is damn near impossible to remove. Theres so many bolts in the most ridiculous of places and you need the hands of a 3 year old to reach in to put a socket on them. I have never had a more problematic time with taking a part off Up until now I thought the bolts "underneathe" that I saw posts about people have trouble reaching were the ones on the lower part between the runners, little did I know mitsubishi bolted this thing down to every spot they could find. Also, I more or less painted my garage floor with coolant.... What a PITA

I havent studies anything yet, but I was under the impression that there is coolant flowing throw part of the IM near the #4 cylinder?

As I can look from the IM I have here at home the coolant flows near that 4 cyl side you are right drew. Also can I ask why you are removing your IM is it because you are installing RRM's?

Drew: It took about 2 hours between me and my 2 friends. Most of the time was trying to remove bolts mitsubishi likes to hide all over the place. I dont have many pics that would be useful, and my only tip is to be patient. I got frustrated with it and was ready to put a mallet through my windshield But it just takes time. An extra set of hands are good too for a lot of things like pulling it out around the dipstick thing. And yes the coolant does flow by the 4th cyl. And thats why I have a lake of it sitting on the floor of my garage lol wasnt prepared for that.

Kreepa: Vac hoses werent too bad, just alot of twsiting and stuff.

Migue: I just sent it out to PPI for their porting. The price was alittle more appealing than RRMs and its something ive wanted to do for a while now. Im waiting on some other stuff for the car to come in the mail so I figured while it had some down time itd be a good time to ship the manifold out since its just sitting in the garage anyway.

I'll try to take a lot of pics when im putting it back on if I remember and then I'll just post them up backwards as kind of a "how-to" along w/ my opinion of PPI's porting.

Im neck deep in this world as it is trying to put a 302 in my starion lol Between my ralliart and my starion, Ive taken up both sides of the garage and one side of the driveway. Half my garage is a pile of stuff I've pulled out of the starion....weight reduction ftw! But yeah I think the PPI one will def be worth it, I just sent the thing out and I already cant wait to get it back!

Let me know how the 302 into the starion turns out. My buddy and i will be dropping in a 383 stroker into a conquest. I think he's already got the crossmember and mounts.

Please tell me we can do this just from the engine bay and not having to go under the car.

Me hates getting under the car!
