Finally going Turbo...
I was wondering if anyone with a Turbo from RRM has had any problems when getting their car smogged as far as vin numbers go or anything like that.
I have an 04 auto ralliart, should have the cash together in 2 weeks.

Where are you located? If Cali, you probably won't pass smog -- they do visual checks and no way are you hiding a big honkin turbo.

I do live in CA, can I get my car smogged outside of CA if I live here or does it HAVE to be done here...
I have a mechanic that has been working on my car for over a year now, perhaps he can help me out?
What would not pass visually, would it the turbo itself? Or just that no parts have VIN numbers on them or something like that.

You have to get smogged in your state, and there's not a chance in hell that your car will pass smog in Cali if you turbo it. Not a single thing on the kit is CARB certified. The turbo, intake, and every single exhaust component would fail visual, and it wouldn't pass the sniffer test, since the RRM kit has no cat.

im glad i live in md, we go through one inspection(only with used cars) and you randomly get emissions tests but with newer cars they dont even really pay attention unless you drive in with no exhaust on your car. when i go with the rrm kit i should have no problem unless they give me crap about not having a CAT which i doubt theyll check since my car is a 2005.

Unfortunatly that is the chance you take when buying and installing a Turbo or Supercharger, if the company that is selling that kit with no garanty of being carb legal, you may have issues down the line with smog/emission test. So if you want to be able to drive your car without getting a fine just stay N/A

Congradulations on going snail, track your progress for all of us to see! Also you should be fine out here with a turbo, just dont go blowin off in public areas, cops or street racing. Majority of cops wouldn't be able to tell there difference of a FMIC Ralliart to a Evo VIII or IX. Also if you really worried, go stealth, black out the IC.
