Converting automatic to standard?

Okay so when i bought my 06 RA i didn't have the option of standard or automatic. They were trying to clear out their 06 RA's for the Evo's, and the only RA they had was automatic. They had OZ rally's that were standard and lancer es' that were standard but they just aren't as nice as the RA (sorry if i offend anyone). And at the time i bought my car I needed to be able to drive right away and I have never driven standard (only had my license a few months).

I want to convert my car to standard.... Is this even possible? Trading in my RA for another one wont work as the dealership I bought mine at doesn't have any RA's left.

if its gonna cost 3k to convert it you should use that money to mod the hell outta what you have.

it will be a process, you should have told the dealer to switch it over before you even bought the car at no cost. they did that for my dads old car when he first bought it brand new.

I wish I would've known i definatley would've asked them to switch it over before i bought it.
Im taken my car in tomorrow for its 6000Km oil change so i might talk to them about it then.
But your right for 3g's I might as well just throw in some nice mods.

There are no evo's in Canada....I would never try and change over a auto to stick.

I doubt your dealership would try to do the conversion for you, even as an incentive to buy. Doing a conversion like that is a lot more extensive than you think, especially for your average stealership... Your best bet would be to just save the cash up for mods, yea an auto isn't the best at times but i must admit. I wouldn't mind an auto when i'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on a hill for 2 hours at a time... haha

How much would you like to bet me on this?
I'll bet you anything that there is evo's in canada... Want proof I'll get it. Someone near me drives a brand new white evo, it even says evolution in the bottom left of the trunk and his license plate is 4warned.

Starting january 2008 or later this fall The evolution rolls into calgary alberta canada to meet competition with Nissan rolling out its racing division in which they are going to be selling skylines etc etc.

It was so easy in that Street Rod II game (yes kids, it existed before Sony dreamed of making game systems it ran on "DOS") you just undid a few bolts, it fell away, you selected your new transmission, connected and bolted it back and zing! done!
Life was so easy then

In regards to getting it converted to stick I think I'll just end up keeping it auto and just put in some mods..

Cow town racer, if your ever in the Shawnessy area in the SW by evergreen keeps your eyes open for the white evolution. Im assuming its a guy whose working at a mitsubishi dealership who got his hands on the evo before anyone else.. They dont know how much they are going to sell it for but When my buddy al went to buy his new eclipse they said he was looking at least 50g's for the new evo.

i think what he meant was, you cannot purchase an evo in canada...
those with evos in canada have dual citizenships and are insured in the US with US plates...

you're new here...i'm going to go easy on you...

okay...let me rephrase. you cannot purchase an evo in canada LEGALLY.
only way around this is to swap VINS with a regular lancer and the evo and insuring the evo as a lancer.. This is called insurance fraud. If you are booked you are screwed. Not to mention if you get an accident...good luck having them insure you.

Yes, the new evos will be sold here, but don't try and tell me you can buy the current generation evo's LEGALLY in canada, because you CANT unless you are a dual citizen or a insurance frauding criminal...
