intake instal prob. sorta

so today i went to put my intake on my new car.. and i was unscrewing the 2 little bolt on the maf sensor. i go to losten the first screw and it just completely strips round. so then i go to do the other one and it comes off fine. i took some wire cutters to cut around the plastec to remove the maf sensor of the tube. i spent a half hour trying to remove the screw and finaly gave up and cut the plastic.

so when i went to put it back on my injen pipe i screwed one in and the other that still had a hole (after some super gluing some plastic) i just stuck the closest fiting screw i had into it, it was to small but it gave some support. then i just threw some electricle tape around it for security.

think il have any probs in the futer with that. cause i know maf sensors are expensive and the only part broken is the one screw mount

That sensor is super sensitive, I would definately replace the screw, I had the same thing happen so I just went and got one from the local hardware store that worked fine

I don't get get it either all of the screws are tinted to ''look'' like grade 8 , but they seen much softer, ......back on track look for a self tapping screw in stainless...I have been just kinda on the side been replacing bolts and nuts in stainless and chrome, I have a large selection at my family business hardware.....good luck....

So you stripped the screw trying to remove it and cut the MAS to get it off the car?

Thats bad, you should have just gotten some vice grips or a tool to remove stripped screws..........
