Geardownsons super build Day 1

Well i finally started on my baby today. The whole rear end is torn off an the car is in total shambles.
Shes gunna be parked for a while
Things i got accomplished.
1) Almost have the accolade rear bumper fitted. I took the bracket off the old bumper drilled out the rivets an rerevited it to the new bumper.Had to do a lot of grinding on the bumper to make the brackets work.Even after i get this thing on i still have fiberglass work to do because for some reason theres a big hole at the bottom of the bumper. Dont know why they made it like that. Looks as if it was made for a trailer hitch.(WTF?)

2) While adam(my bodyman) was messing with that i tore the whole inside apart.
Drilled a hole in the firewall for the cables for the gauges. Wired up all the power/ground/illumination for boost, egt.oil pressure. Yanked the light bulb for the ABS light.
All i got to do is make the hole in the firewall bigger so i can run my wideband then i can finish up the preliminarys on the gauge install. Turbo should be in next week so then i can start fitting the aftermarket bumper with the FMIC an hopefully all i have to do is adjust the side skirts to make it all flow... Hopefully..

Today i didnt get as much done as i would have liked but i had to keep running to the store for little BS an parts. (Which was irritating the hell outta me)

Ill post some daylight pics tom.

you BETTER get it done for the meet, or you will have to ride in the danmobile

I have found a place that will do my cam with my specs, decided I am doing to rent a garage at my apartment for the last two months I am here, and will be finishing my install (barring any problems) the week before the meet. gonna do the head myself, keep the stock valvetrain, and am still gonna look into headstuds.

I was thinking about riding up there when I saw you had started, but didn't have time this weekend. you got your kid next weekend, or are you gonna do some more work on the car?

In two weeks i will be working on it more. I have my son next weekend. But i may be able to get a sat afternoon to start the turbo. It would be great it you came up man i could use all the help i can get. By then i know the turbo will be in an i still have the front bumper to fit. After i get that on i can just adjust the side skirts to make it all flow.(thats my plan anyway..) All the gauges have been run to the engine bay. So when turbo gets in ill be ready.

They were very reasonably priced. When adam got in the car an turned all of em on he was like "i hate you so fkn much" You got all these nice toys".
They match the spedo very nicely

If you let me know early in the week I can come up for one day anyway. not sure the GF would let me away for more than a day, since I am gonna be doing my car real soon anyway.
