*OLD* Offical Thread: 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
#202
it will be based off the 2.4 dohc world engine that you will first see in MY08 outlander n/a and than in the MY09 GTS only lancer n/a. the engines are all ready designed to be either or. the only thing I can tell you is you will just have to wait and see.

What does that have to do with this conversation? I was speaking specifically about Mitsubishi (since we're on a Mitsu forum.) I'm aware that there are other manufacturers using DC trannies (Audi, VW, Konnisegg) with more on the way. BorgWarner is building a new plant to manufacture them and will soon see them on other European brands and Chryslers.
uh.
Since you said other models I was assuming you meant that.
No need to get sensitive.

2.4 would be awesome but i hope they bored it out a bit and not all of the displacement increase is from increasing the stroke. but this would make sense though. smaller turbo, faster spool up, lower rev limit, more torque down low. very streetable engine.
the K20 and K24 tuners have been going crazy with the compatibility of the engines. if we do get a 2.4 block think of the possibilities!
evo head (assuming it is higher flowing than RA) + RA 2.4 block + RA crank or maybe even a stroker crank (rod length clearance dependent) = a monster engine.
evo head + RA block + Evo crank = super rev happy engine.
oh the possibilities...

fully loaded VRX(gts for u) in aus is about $37k drive away, prices are starting at $40k for RA
just look a little bit above fully loaded vrx/gts, or about 2/3rds of evo price, or same range as WRX
