thinking of doing right hand drive convertion??

im trying to do some research on getting the jdm dash, steering items, etc.. im also considering doing a whole jdm engine, tranny, ecu swap as well. my problem is im having trouble finding some sites that sell these items. ive searched and searched but all i come up with are 4g63 engines and i cant find the dash convertion anywhere. i think from what ive read the ralliart version would be the cedia with the 4g93 1.8l gdi turbo . if anyone can point me to any sites that can provide these things then i might go for it. i want to do this to be different and i know the jdm engine is the same or a little less hp than the 4g69 but like i said im doing this to be different. im sure ill get flamed for this one .

thanks for any help

i would think that you could find a right hand drive ra dash set up easily no? i try maybe hooking up with someone on here from outside the states that could maybe order you THEIR oem dash and ship it here and you pay them...because im sure they sell oem replacement dashes for their cars like they would ours, theyd probably have to go through their local dealership but i dont see why that wouldnt work...then as for the jdm parts hook up with someone from over there you know? good luck with it though keep an update if you go through with it

If anywhere, I would check passwordjdm.com. They focus more on honda's, but if you are a serious buyer they could probably do some research and find one for you, or if you get really lucky they may have one. You would need to buy a whole front clip, with or without the motor. It usually would include back the the dash, and have the carpet as well. You have to take that and cut out the firewall, and do the same on your car. You re-weld the spots you cut out and weld it back together.

i think getting the whole front clip would be a good way to go. are turbo cedias pretty common in japan?

I honestly have no idea. I don't know too much about lancers, I just have a few friends who have done RHD on their cars, and considered doing it to my honda a few months back, before I bought my evo.

This link may be helpful in giving you a general idea of what the conversion will entail.

honestly, i just like the setup. i guess im sort of getting sick of driving on the left side. its something new for me. other than that i cant think of any other reason except id have to drive backwards through a drive thru .

im still having trouble finding everything so it might not happen but im not giving up yet. if this doesnt work out i could still go turbo, but id still like to have a very different setup.
